Job purpose

We are looking for a Draftsman to work with our team of engineers and scientists to convert designs into technical plans for innovative and advanced scientific instruments and industrial equipment.  Designs include both electrical and mechanical drawings developed with CAD.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Work with scientists and engineers to gather product requirements and designs
  • Calculate dimensions and requirements in materials
  • Describe production methods step by step
  • Mechanical and electrical technical documentation
  • Preparing sketches for the team
  • Ensure final designs comply with standards
  • Create manuals that describe existing products’ operation, features and maintenance

 

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Looking for both entry level and experienced draftsmen
  • Proven work as a draftsman or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with computer aided design (CAD)
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCad
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good math skills
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Excellent Engineering reading and writing skills
  • Associates degree in Engineering, Architecture from a technical college
  • Experience with designing commercial or industrial products
  • Diligence in Engineering Design Principles, Commitment to meeting deadlines

 

Working conditions

Working in a high technology startup company, the draftsman will work within teams in a hands-on environment to meet the project requirements.

 

Physical requirements

The execution of work begins in team meetings where the projects needs are discussed, the draftsman then translates these needs to electrical/mechanical designs, and helps in building/testing of the assemblies and then ensures that the designs fulfill the project needs.

Job purpose

To plan and execute electrical designs for economy, quality, reliability, safety and sustainability for innovative and advanced scientific instruments and devices.  Designs must account for electrical, mechanical, and software aspects of the instrument and must developed with CAD documentation throughout the development process.

  • Reporting of Data
  • Management of Projects
  • Searching, Reviewing, and Evaluating electrical designs

 

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Looking for both entry-level and experienced engineers
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology
  • Hands on experience in building control circuits, assembling hardware and design of industrial equipment
  • Experience with PLC and related hardware and software
  • Knowledge of PSpice, Labview, Oscilloscopes, C++, FPGA. PIC, MATLAB is a plus
  • Must be able to translate project needs into the design of the equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Strong aptitude in math and physics
  • Excellent Engineering reading and writing skills
  • Experience with designing commercial or industrial products

Job purpose

To plan and execute mechanical designs for industrial equipment containing conveyors and materials handling mechanisms.  Designs will include for mechanical and electro-mechanical components requiring expertise with CAD software.

  • Execution of mechanical design principles for manufacturing equipment development
  • CAD of mechanical designs and reporting of data
  • Management of projects
  • Searching, reviewing, and evaluating equipment designs

 

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Looking for both entry-level and experienced mechanical engineers
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology
  • Proficient in use CAD software such as AutoCAD and Solidworks
  • Must be able to translate project needs into the design of hardware
  • Strong aptitude in hands-on work
  • Experience in building metal parts using manual lathe/mill and CNC is a plus
  • Strong Communication skills

Job purpose
To plan and carry out experiments and investigations in a range of areas to develop innovative and advanced scientific instruments and devices. Proposal writing is also highly sought after to create new projects and technologies. This position is for creative individuals who have the intellect, desire, and capacity to create and release novel technologies into the world.

Qualifications
Preferred:
• Completion of the PhD program in a field of science including but not limited to Nanotechnology, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Analytical Sciences and Environmental Sciences.
• Special Knowledge in the fields of material science and x-ray physics
• Use of related software such as LabView, COMSOL, finite element analysis simulators, particle simulators, computational fluid dynamics
• Hands on Experience building circuits, assembling hardwares, design of scientific apparatuses
• Diligence in Scientific Endeavor, Commitment to meeting deadlines
• Excellent Communication and Team Building Skills
• Excellent scientific reading and writing Skills

Working conditions
Working in a high technology environment, the Scientist will work individually and within teams in a hands-on environment to meet the project requirements.

Physical requirements
Moving and arranging scientific equipment into place to conduct experiments. Preparing and presenting project reports and performing extensive data analysis.
